Here’s what some of my class members have to say:
I have found Sharon’s Core Pilates extremely beneficial. I had a slipped disc in my lower back about 5 years ago and often feel twinges due to weakness. Pilates had helped me understand how I can aleviate this by correct posture, using my core strength and steching and exercising my problem areas when pain strikes. Sharon is extremely skilled in her teaching and offers individual advice on how to perform the exercises and how to make sure your body is held in the correct alignment. I have been attending Sharon’s class for a year now and feel the benefits every day.
“My son, doing a sports’ module at university on “Exercise in the Elderly” (!!) looked at me (only 50 something) and said “you’ve got a very sedentary job Mum, why don’t you do a course in Pilates?” He even set me up for it. So here I am five years later, older but more supple and grateful for the wisdom of the young and the skill of a good teacher. My secretarial job no longer has to mean neck ache and backache, walking holidays with my husband no longer make me wilt and gorges can be conquered. Sharon has coaxed and guided me expertly through the “getting used to it” stage to build up both my confidence and core muscles so that now I feel I can tackle equally a day’s exercise or a day at the keyboard and survive both experiences! Thank you, Sharon, I shan’t be leaving any time soon.”
“As the oldest members of the class we are finding Sharon’s excellent classes very beneficial and enjoyable, reducing age related aches and pains and, at the same time, improving our mobility”.
“I have been attending Sharon’s classes for six years. By the time my second child was four I often suffered from pains in my lower back, neck and shoulders, I put this down to ,the after effects of carrying babies, lifting toddlers and pushing pushchairs, after one memorably painful episode I decided to try Pilates. Quite soon after starting classes these problems began to fade away and although sometimes I might have a bit of lower back pain it goes away pretty quickly with a few roll downs or cat stretches. Other benefits of Pilates are that your posture improves, you really do get a flatter stomach and at Sharon’s class five minutes relaxation with your eyes shut at the end!”
“I have been going to Sharon’s pilates classes for the last 6 years or so, I had surgery on my back before starting and I find it releases the stiffness in my back and keeps my stomach muscles toned, it keeps you feeling supple and flexible and I only do one hour per week! It is a relaxing class and very friendly group.”
“I have been attending Sharon’s classes for more than four years and since then I cannot remember having had any severe back pains. The regular exercise certainly helped me. I can very much recommend her classes, the way she teaches and explains the various positions are excellent.”
“I’ve been attending Sharon’s classes for several years and they are still very interesting and varied. Sharon changes the moves weekly and introduces different aids in the class that challenge us further. She demonstrates each movement for every level of competence, so whether you are at an advanced level or a beginner the class can be enjoyed by all.”
